If you are purchasing lake property,  your first year's membership in LWPOA is free!  Ask your realtor for details or contact any LWPOA Board Member.

LWPOA

  • Has over 600 families or approximately 1200 members
  • Publishes and sends to members quarterly newsletters
  • Publishes and sends to members a yearly membership directory
  • Holds four membership meetings yearly including a picnic and a dinner meeting
  • Sponsors and participates in the Water Testing Program in conjunction with the Alabama Department of Environmental Management
  • Sponsors and participates in the Renew Our Rivers Lake Cleanup with Alabama Power
  • Conducts Kids Fishing Day each spring for local children under age sixteen
  • Sponsors the lake Marine Radio Group in conjunction with the Sheriff's Department
  • Assists in lake safety issues such as purchase of buoys marking "trouble spots"
  • Works with regulatory agencies to obtain better lake water levels year round
  • Has a nine member elected board  meeting monthly to address important lake issues
